Catalina: A Love Story

I've been to Catalina many times since Dean got his pilots license. We even took our engagements there. But I've never really enjoyed it quite like this time (usually the plane ride ruins it for me). Maybe it's because I was not studying and should have been, or because I got to listen to a South African accent all day, and the weather couldn't have been better! Thank you California!

Tandy (the south african) and david
I'm so white my arm blends in with the whiteness.
This gal is awesome. I plan on visiting her someday. She's convinced me.
They painted the hangar! I kind of liked the rustic look in our engagements, but this looks nice too.
All photography done by Dean and I. But the good ones are by Dean.
Perfect weather and Lemon Sorbet. What more could you ask for?

Oh the brothers

No Hat

We ate some fish

goodbye for now

Daniel Radcliffe

Why am I just now seeing this video? And why is Dean the one telling me about it? I'm losing my credibility here.

I love to make fun of bloggers, even bloggers that I follow. Sometimes they take themselves too seriously, or try to hard (which is why I have trouble writing my own blog, because I don't want to come off this way)

Here are a few of my favorite embarrassing (according to my book) things they have done recently:

1. Back in october, 2 bloggers, who shall remain "nameless," both used the term hash tag in place of an actual hash tag, and we all know how I feel about hash tags. How many times can I say hash tag? Hash tag.

P.S. a third blogger did the exact same thing soon after, but I didn't get photo evidence of it (I know it's out there on the internetz somewhere!!

2. On the exact same day, almost within a few hours of each other, at least 10 blogs/websites that I follow joined the app called Vine and displayed it on instagram. I don't know about anyone else, but this makes me feel like the app is being shoved down my throat. If it's that cool it will catch on by itself. In fact, I deem this uncool because of how cool it wants to be. So not cool.
3. Today, 2 bloggers who I find highly annoying but I can't look away wore the same shirt and my heart exploded in joy.

                                                                    via                                                          via

The only difference is that one of them posted like 10 pictures of herself in it, and the other only posted this one picture that you could actually see the heart (the rest were awkward poses and her child)
P.S. I promise you these are 2 different people

If you need further indulgence of your love for making fun/complaining about bloggers see here (or google search your favorite blogger along with the abbreviation GOMI to find their forum)

On Notice 2013

I used to be a huge fan of The Colbert Report [I still am but I don't watch it anymore]. One of my favorite segments he did was the "On Notice" board. Please see:

The Colbert ReportMon - Thurs 11:30pm / 10:30c
On Notice/Dead to Me - Word of the Year

This year, a few things are "On Notice" by yours truly. [While doing some research for a video, I found an "on notice generator"]

Now, keep reading if you want to know why!

1. Leggings as Pants

Now, to be honest, I'm jealous of people who are so bold as to wear things that aren't pants as pants. They are comfortable. They are pretty much my daily attire inside my own home. I wish I felt as if it were acceptable to wear leggings as pants.

2. Hashtags

Just stop. It's getting to be too much.

3. Bras as tops

Does this even need an explanation?

4. Disneyland

This one is hard to admit. I grew up going to Disneyland. I love Disneyland. But they, apparently, don't love me (or any of their devout local attendees). Their prices have gone up and it's ALWAYS crowded. I remember a time where the prices where somewhat decent and there was an "off season" where you could just walk onto the rides. This is no longer a reality. I think our disney days are over. Which is why I had to put Disneyland on notice :(

5 and 6 need no explanation either. They barely deserve a mention.

7. Secrets

Why do I hate secrets? Well, most secrets are bad, but even the most innocent of secrets can lead to speculation and eventually gossip.  Sometimes I know secrets, and people ask me things, and I don't know how to respond. I don't want to lie, but I don't want to share someone's secret. Secrets put me in a bad spot. No more secrets.

8. Weird Baby Names

After watching the baby names from utah video, and hearing some friends of friends of friends baby names, I just can't take it anymore. I have like a million friends having baby names, I just hope they make a good decision when naming their child.

The End. I sound like such a complainer. Maybe I should do a post of things I'm excited for. Ok Ill try.

One down, Three to go!

Ok I'm glad I got that out. It has been a little over a week now.

Here is my hospital group that I seriously love (minus the instructors that I also loved!):
Uniforms and no flattering...

On our last day of clinical we had a half day and went out to lunch afterwards. Everyone decided that they want to go to CPK since it was nearby and is obviously delicious. It was so fun!
Here is the group that I usually hang out with at school.
After our final, we went to BJs to celebrate!
I'm going to miss them over the break!

We got together tonight and had dinner at Yard House (for some reason I can't get over that name, it's just a weird restaurant name). Looking forward to a whole month off and then coming back to these faces :)

For Brissa

Sometimes you say "teach me"
and I'm not sure what you mean

Teach you how to be a copycat from pinterest?

Well, here you go:

How to make a glitter animal head:
pretty paper
small paintbrush
an outline of an animal you want to glitterize  (deer are so hot right now)

  1. cut out said animal
  2. outline onto pretty paper
  3. use paintbrush to apply glue within animal outline
  4. cover with glitter!!!
  5. wait approximately 10 minutes (or until glue is dry)
  6. shake off excess glitter
  7. if needed, use a toothpick to remove glitter that is out of the lines
and wallah! you have your DIY glitter animal just in time for fall.
